Click and Grow 3D Prints
I'm excited to say the 3D prints came out nicely! Again, I can't do the experiment until at least the week of Halloween but if I'm feeling better sooner, I'll try to start right away.
Below are the pictures of how the files I got from Thingiverse turned out! The specific files I used were Click and Grow Hydroponics and Click and Grow Cup Cover both designed by Rybaiho.
First I'll show you how the Hydroponics one looks:
You can see that the entire unit is smaller than the cup so the water level might need to come up higher (just until it is touching the bottom). This design is based off of the Aerogarden pods but the top is designed to fit Click and Grow units. I've ordered some empty Aero Pods so hopefully they will fit as expected. Again, I think this experiment will do better because of the open spaces that roots can grow out from.
Next is the full cup cover:
If you follow the link to the file you'll notice this was originally in two pieces. The person who helped me print these went into the file and combined the pieces. At first, I was afraid it wouldn't fit because maybe it needed that extra space but it actually worked out perfectly!
NOTE: I followed the creators settings exactly. If you have a hard time finding them it is no supports, infill 20% and resolution 0.2.
