Technofied Shakespeare Lesson Plan

I had to really think about this assignment. There's a lot of tech in theatre but when I think about high school classes that I've seen for Theatre, none of them were playing with sound or light boards. They were all going through acting and learning basic terms like "musical" or "monologue".

First I thought about how I would simply substitute a lesson plan. I realized the easiest way would be to make a video of a scene. By just recording it, it should change the scene drastically. Camera angles and shots might come into play but it doesn't do much to the content of the lesson.

Since I'm taking a teaching writing course I then thought about what I could do for modification. I looked up ways for students to do "text stories". I then saw a bunch of examples that were very amusing. Here is a couple of them:

By doing text stories students have to translate the language into modern English. This forces them to really pay attention.

After this the redefinition lesson plan wasn't too hard to figure out. Making students present Shakespeare in a completely different genre can help with their understanding in a variety of ways.

The only area I had problems with was augmentation. I didn't fully understand this so I went with a similar idea as the example that was given to us, which was instant feedback.

Anyway, below is my full lesson plan and the additions of substitution, augmentation, modification and redefinition.
